This series documents the personal and professional life of Ernest P. Watson, SJ, including information about his ordination into the Society of Jesus, and the different positions he had over the course of his life. There is also extensive correspondence between Watson and his family.

This series documents the teaching career of Fr. Norman Martin at Santa Clara University and contains class syllabi, lecture notes, handouts, and grading materials, including materials for the Latin American Civilization course that was co-taught with his colleague Dr. Francisco Jimenez.
SERIES I. William M. Tipton's Personal Papers,, 1887-1978 (bulk 1893-1918)
This series documents Will Tipton’s personal and professional life as a land surveyor and self-taught expert in old Spanish documents. It includes materials from the Philippine Committee of Geographical Names and photographs of Fr. Arthur Spearman, history professor and archivist at Santa Clara University, at Mr. Tipton’s grave.
Series II. Correspondence, Research Materials, and Miscellaneous Papers, 1950-2004, 1950-2004 (bulk 1965-2000)
This series documents Fr. Martin’s personal and professional life, especially in his role as Assistant to the University President for Public Relations. Included is a transcript of an interview with Fr. Martin recorded on video tapes in Series IV: Audio-Visual Materials. There is also correspondence between Fr. Martin and George Price, the former president of Belize from 2001.
Series III. Scrapbooks and Awards, 1950-2006, 1950-2006 (bulk 1985-1995)
This series documents Fr. Martin’s professional life, his Golden Jubilee as a Jesuit, and his death through various scrapbooks and awards. Also included is a tile from the original Mission Santa Clara mounted on a wooden plaque.

This series documents Fr. Martin’s later years at Santa Clara University and his reflections on his experience at SCU both as a student and later a professor. At the time of these interviews, Fr. Martin worked as Assistant to the President and these videos were created primarily for promotional purposes.
